Theatre History I

I had a lot of problems with this course. My biggest grievance was with the syllabus and the schedule of our chosen curriculum. Of the 21 lecture class periods, we spent 16 of them learning about Western theatre history. Only 5 of those days were spent learning about Eastern theatre. We spent one day in China, two days in India, and two days in Japan. That's all we got. This is not unique to this specific class but more, but more of a general problem with theatre education in the United States (and probably the Western world). It was just so frustrating how much attention was given to Western history and how little was given to the theatrical traditions rest of the world. I really would've wanted a more balanced curriculum.
